Cleaning up before you go on vacation

Cleaning the house thoroughly before going on vacation

Thoroughly cleaning your home before going on holiday is essential to ensure everything is in order when you return. Here are some tips to achieve this:

  • If you have pets, consider taking care of them by a relative or boarding them during your absence. This will prevent you from worrying about them and allow them to be well cared for.
  • Take the time to clean your house from top to bottom before you leave. Don’t forget the places you usually don’t clean, such as the toilets and the kitchen. This will allow you to go with peace of mind and be sure that everything will be clean when you return.
  • If you have plants, think about watering them before you leave and ask a neighbor to take care of them during your absence. This will allow them to stay healthy, and you will avoid having to replace them when you return.

Following these few tips, you can go on vacation with peace of mind, knowing that your home is in good shape.

Your only concern will be to make the most of your free time!

STEP #1: CLEANING UP BEFORE THE VACATION: START A LAUNDRY MACHINE

Before going on vacation, start a laundry machine. This way, you will come home to clean and ironed clothes!

We sort the laundry to wash into three categories:

  • already worn clothes that need machine washing,
  • clothes that have been worn but do not require machine washing (for example, jeans),
  • clothes that have not been worn.

Make a pile to put in the suitcase for clothes that have yet to be worn. For those that have been worn but do not require washing, fold them and put them in the bag. Finally, you can start a laundry load before you leave for those needing a machine wash.
